Creative Collaborators Meeting
Agenda:
- Review of how Creative Collaborators came to be: Goals and purpose.
- Joining criteria
- Creative Collaborators as such and independent, autonomous projects
Meeting Summary
- A brief explanation of Creative Collaborators philosophy and goals was presented to all attendants.
- Goals:
To promote, encourage and support creativity and C.C. Members
To be able to establish a network of collaborators to help one another in a voluntary basis in whatever is needed: sharing information about fairs and events, linking artists with people interested in particular art items or commissions, etc.To promote independent or autonomous projects within C.C. But that are run, managed and developed by C.C. Members in an independent fashion from C.C. As such.
Creative Collaborators as such requires for its members to be responsible for their own art work, promotion, etc. They are welcome and encourage to help other members as a service in accordance with the philosophy that brought about CC into existence. CC is what all members make of it, they should see what they can do for others and for themselves and not expect CC or other members to do something for them. No one has any obligation to help or do anything for anyone. All is based on voluntary effort.
- A point was brought for consideration: As a young project, should we endeavour to invite known famous artist to join?
It was agreed that they are welcome to join, but no special promotion was going to be made. The promotional efforts are for CC as such and for specific CC members art work, exhibitions, workshops, etc. If known artist want to join, they are welcome to do so.
- It was explained that CC has no funding. All means are provided as donations form its members. There are no restrictions placed as far as amount, time to donate or any other condition. CC believes in its members good will and honesty. This was agreed upon by all present.
4) Independent Projects:As an example of an independent project run by CC members an explanation of the soon to be CC shop in Moniaive was explained to all those present.
The shop is an idea an project of some CC members. The running of the shop, the management, the cost, profits, policies, etc. as sole responsibility of the shop management. It is totally independent of CC and of its members.
Nevertheless, it is open to all CC members for the promotion and display of their work, for networking and contacting. It is also open to all other artists, items or suppliers that the shop management decide to have.
The shop policies will be defined by the shop management and will be made public to CC members via the web site.Volunteering to help in the running of the shop, specially during opening hours and customer service is open to all those who so wish to volunteer. It was made very clear that the CC shop in Moniaive is an independent project from CC and as such it should be considered and run.
The meeting leader asked if there where other issues or questions.
No other issues or questions were raised so the meeting was adjourned.
